Online voting is now open for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s online PB-style neighbourhood grants process. Up to £50,000 is available in 2015 and supported by information posted on the council’s website local people are able to vote using an online survey.
The neighbourhood PB scheme is geared towards assisting local residents and community groups access funding to deliver schemes and projects that will benefit the residents of the Royal Borough.
Groups can apply for up to £2000 at a time, and even if not successful but getting a degree of public support for their idea, their application can be rolled over into the next round.
The results of the online poll are considered by local councillors. The Councillors consider the level of public support for each project and the Participatory Budgeting Sub-Committee gives final approval for the successful projects. Where appropriate Town Forums are consulted. This process continues until funds are exhausted.
