Plan International and the Centre for Children’s Rights at Queen’s University Belfast are conducting a global review of good practice for involving children and young people in participatory budgeting processes. This study includes an online survey and a small number of case studies in different countries and regions around the world.
The study examines the enabling factors for child participation at all levels (national, sub-national, municipal, local) and at any stage (planning, allocating, distributing, reporting/evaluating and/or auditing) of budgetary decision-making.
A research team from the Centre for Children’s Rights at Queen’s University Belfast wrote the survey with support from Plan International. They are asking people who have experience or knowledge of child-participatory processes to share their views in this survey. You must be aged 16 or older to take part.
The responses from this survey will be returned to the research team. They are asking people who have experience or knowledge of child-participatory processes to share their views in this survey. Although there is a lot of work happening around the world to involve children and young people in budgetary decision-making, they want to understand more about what factors support effective and inclusive processes.
- Want to take part in the survey? It is open until 14 May 2016.
