Buckinghamshire’s Area Forums using PB

on 11 September, 2016 in England, Neighbourhoods, News, Videos

In Buckinghamshire, some Local Area Forums have held ‘community budgeting’ schemes over the past few years. These schemes have taken place in Aylesbury, Amersham and Wendover. To see the details of the projects that have benefited from this community budget money, view the previous years’ reports. Its unclear if the project is continuing in 2016. Funding cuts make small schemes like these very vulnerable. However here is one of the short promotional videos produced in 2015, where its clear residents could also vote online.

The Local Area Forum (LAF) invited organisations who have projects that will benefit the specific community linked to that LAF to submit proposals for their ideas and then a shortlist is created that residents in that area will have the opportunity to vote on, based on their preferences.

Voting can be done online via a quick and simple link or for those who do not have internet access, there are paper ballot forms and ballot boxes set out in local shops, libraries and even in some pubs.
