The PB Dialogue Workshop is dedicated to analysing the state of the art of PB and participatory processes in the United Kingdom and Europe. Brunel University, a partner in the EMPATIA project, will be hosting the event, developed in collaboration with the PB Network.
After presenting the EMPATIA project, we will explore EMPAVILLE, a role-playing game that uses innovative ICTs to simulate multi-channel (on and off-line) Participatory Budgeting.
There will then be a review of recent developments in Participatory Budgeting in the UK, led by Sue Ritchie, Alan Budge and Jez Hall of PB Partners and a plenary session for contributions from participants. The newly constituted UK PB Network will be presented after the plenary session, with election of the PB Network committee and launch of the PB Network advisory board. The event finishes with a networking reception.
It will be an opportunity to discuss the current state of Participatory Budgeting in the UK with academics, practitioners, and policy-makers. The afternoon dialogue is being preceded by a workshop of academics and researchers.
